The way I gained repect is by being honest with people, tell it how it is even when I know they will get ofended. But I wont tell them in front of others; because thats just rude. If this is something really bad and I know that by me telling them will make them cry, I'll just try to find a very nice and kind way to talk to them.
When I am at church most of the people are already respectful, but the ones that are rude and all, I just say hi and bye, if a conversation comes by great if not them I'll just go say hello to someone else. Although they are already nice and respectful you still have to do your part by not being rude; I know I'm saying the word rude a lot but thats just how I feel; you see if you are being rude to someone you cant expect them to be the sweetest person to you cause well if they are then they are too nice or they have a mental problem because even I dont do that.
At home...well lets just say that my family is not th type you will want to say "oh they are just so kind", because they're not. They are rude when they want and where they want to and how they want to. Most of the time I'm embarraced to go out with them, but I cant really say anything because stupidity is not a crime. The way I got respect was by not letting them step on me; because if you let them step on you once believe me they will do it again. I respect the fact that they are all older then me but when they cross the line I let them know whats up.
Another way to gain respect is by, well as a girl, dress properly, respect yourself, having a good language, and well just be polite to everybody.
